We are currently raising funds for the urgent restoration of our historic building. Our first phase of work to save us from closure ended Dec 2023 when the Robertson Street side of this building had the windows restored, stone masonry replaced and reparied were possible. This was possible due to the generous support of our Hastings & St Leonards community, service users as well as the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Garfield Weston Foundation, National Churches Trust, Benefact Trust, and Sussex Historic Churches Trust

We are so gratefull to all who have helped us, now our focus is on urgent repair work to three flag stones on the pavement side of Cambridge Road which have sunk and water has caused cracks in the ceiling to the hall and cafe on the lower ground floor accessible from Robertson Street and the Cambridge Road side of the building where our roof manages the rain water from both our neighbours as well as oursleves. The gullys are not lined deep enough with led to prevent the heavy rain fall from then seeping into the loft as well as the down pipes which are all internal being to thin for the volume of water that in todays world is greater volume than the past. Our lovely pigeons and seagulls play there part in bocking the down pipes which only take three feathers or a lot of shell and rubbish that they deposit in our gullys. We clean the roof every 3 months at a cost of £400 and a helpful cherry picker man. We need to raise funds towards the grants we are writing to enable our success at grant funding which requires our contribution. Once we have seacured the £125,000 we will be able to put these issues to bed and the building will be secure again.

With your help, we can carry out future planned phases, these include the restoration of our beautiful church organ and auditorium.
